3D Printing Service

Our 3D Printing Service is for those that need a plastic 3D model for a variety of reasons. Also known as rapid prototyping, this concept is fast becoming the new way that many smart and forward thinking businesses and individuals are prototyping ideas. In some situations, businesses are even using these services as an alternative to manufacturing. We use a professional grade 3D printer to produce high quality parts for testing, displays, client demonstrations, checking for fit, form and function, end use parts and just for fun.

Our 3D Printer

We choose to use a Stratasys Dimension 1200es with soluble support system. We believe that giving our customers the best means using a professional grade machine that is more dimensionally accurate and produces stronger parts than consumer grade machines.

The Stratasys Dimension 1200es machine is well renowned for reliability, repeatability, and the soluble support system means that almost any shape can be produced. Where other systems lack the ability to produces complex overhangs, the soluble support system means that any complex overhangs and deep cavities can be cleaned away without any remaining ugly broken support material residue.

Our material

We only use Stratasys’ propriety ABSplus filament. This is an ABS designed specifically for 3D printing that replicates almost exactly the mechanical properties of injection moulded ABS. ABS is a popular plastic that is used for automotive parts, Lego, small appliances, electrical enclosures and many other uses.

Parts can be made up to 250 x 250 x 300mm in size. Larger parts can be made by allowing for an interlocking connection and them simply gluing smaller parts together. Just ask and we can find a way to get your parts printed.

The process

There are 2 pathways to getting your parts made with 3Delta. The first pathway is to have a design modelled and ready to go and then uploading an STL file. The second pathway is to email, call or make an appointment for a face to face meeting where we can discuss your needs and do the design work for you.

Upload

upload your STL file, SolidWorks file or Step file. We ask for the overall dimensions as a check against the file just to make sure that there are no errors in scaling during conversion to STL. You will also need to select colour and other parameters. If you have any questions about the upload process, please call us on 0407 089 281.

CAD Design

We at 3Delta believe that CAD and 3D printing is a match made in heaven! We have noticed that many people are interested in 3D printing, need 3D printing but hit a road block when it comes to part design. Unfortunately, there simply is no easy to use software for 3D model design and 3D printing that people can use without many hours of learning. That’s why we offer a CAD design service to go with our 3D printing. Simply call or email and we can get the process moving. If you have a hand drawn sketch, an idea, a 2D CAD drawing, a pdf, anything, and then we can convert it into a 3D model for you and then a 3D printed part. We can help you over the phone, email or make an appointment to come and see us. We have dedicated CAD design professionals with many years of experience in many fields of engineering, product design and automotive design that can turn your ideas into reality.
